As of December 15, we have donated $6000 for food purchase distribution covering three months - December, January, and February. This food distribution is estimated to feed approximately 30 teachers and their families, and 500 students per month; all of this is dependent on the children attending classes as weather plays a factor in gaining access to the school sites. Food distribution will be in the form of food coupons and actual food items. Food coupons will be honor at local province stores specifically for food purchase. Additionally, food products made in Afghanistan will be the primary choice. All for the purpose of assisting the local economy and promoting national products.

News Update

As late as December 27, we received news that our feeding efforts have continued despite sporadic school operations over the winter season. Essential food items are being distributed! A total of four teachers and 300 students were fed over the last week.

Our goal is to provide food in conjuction with school attendance and other opportunities. At this pace, we aim to feed up to 900 persons (teachers included) by the beginning of January!

We continue to monitor the recent effects of the Taliban announcement banning access to higher education and work with foreign organizations by Afghan women. We will provide updates and affects of these proclamations to our mission. Meanwhile, we are counting on your contributions to feed our Afghan families. After all, if there is a will, there is a way!

AISK for Afghans-Homeschoools

Most recently, the Taliban suspended university education for women and secondary

schooling for girls. Women have been banned from working in non-governmental

organizations and face a dress code. The Taliban says the restrictions on women’s

rights are based on its interpretations of Islamic law. AISK for Afghans is working on

setting up home schools for women who were teachers with chromebooks and flash

drive lessons so girls can continue their education. Purchase of a chromebook and big

screen will cost approximately $250.00 so donations to sponsor a home classroom are

needed. Go to www.AISK-for-afghans.org donation tab
